Carrie's first experience with opera was as the youngest adult chorus member of the Edmonton Opera Company in Canada. Through the generous support of her home town's foremost patrons of the arts*, Carrie was able to attend the Mannes College of Music in New York City, where she completed her Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice. During her undergraduate studies, she sang in concert at Steinway Hall and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall under the auspices of the Associated Music Teachers League of New York; having won their voice competition in her graduating year. She has since studied in Germany and has recently completed a Masters Degree in Pedagogy and Performance at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. During her studies in Germany, she was awarded a DAAD fellowship, three Schleswig-Holstein Festival Performance Grants, a MozartPrisma Fellowship from the Mannheim National Theater and a Villa Musica Fellowship. In master class, she has worked with Deborah Voigt, Teresa Stratas, Cecilia Bartoli, Christoph Prégardien, Reri Grist and Rudolf Jansen . Carrie has also studied privately with Matthias Goerne, Julie Kaufmann, Emily Rawlins Struckmann and Kammersängerin Jeanne Piland. On stage, she has sung the roles of Susanna, Adele, Gretel, Adina, Amor, Papagena, and Despina as well as having performed in concert in Canada, the US, Central Europe and Scandinavia. Carrie has performed in Germany at various theatres as an ensemble member of the Young Chamber Opera Company of Cologne (Kammeroper Köln) , the Cologne Opera Factory ( Opernwerkstatt am Rhein), the German Greek Theatre Society of Cologne ( Deutsch Griechisches Theater ) and with Christoph Hagel's TOCC Concept production of Così fan Tutte in Berlin. In 2012, she will make her debut as a new ensemble member of the Opernloft in Hamburg.

The central identifying figure on stage is the lovable elf, Vanilla Augergina Stechpalmenzweig, performed with much wit and playfulness by Carrie Dimaculangan, who won the hearts and minds of the young audience and their parents almost immediately.

On top of that, with her wonderful mezzo-soprano coloured voice, the funny Aubergina was also able to show the pain of love as Dorabella.

Strong yet fragile. The audience enjoyed several encores at the Art Salon which were performed with obvious enthusiasm.

The entire Billie Holiday Story was impressively performed by Carrie Dimaculangan. She was able to move the audience with her strong emotional expression.

Outstanding once again was Carrie Dimaculangan, whose voice texture was able to embody the sensual curves of the 1939 composed song cycle by Poulenc (1899-1963), Fiançailles Pour Rire after poetry by Louise de Vilmorin. Not only that, but the defiant piece Il vole demonstrated that her faultless technique could also overcome the most difficult of chromatic passages.
